EXPERIENCED SENIOR DESIGNER WANTED BY THIS ICONIC RETAILER TO HELP LEAD THEIR JERSEY AND KNITWEAR DIRECTIONMy Client is one of the most iconic brands in British fashion retail.Specialising in English heritage style products , they have strong buying power and global sourcing.2020 is set to be another year where that success continues , and this is the ideal time to join their design teamYOU WILL BE;An experienced senior designer within womenswear , who has extensive experience in knitwear and wovens, and who can bring a mixture of commercial success, team management and brand development to the role.You will be responsible for developing an innovative and commercial range of Fashion products, which meet our business requirements. Pro-active and creative, you must have worked at a Senior Designer level and be able to demonstrate the ability to research and interpret forward trends and to drive product development. Working with a Buyer, you must have the creative skills to design products, which exceed the customers expectations of the brand, whilst also being commercial in approach.The ideal candidate should have an extensive knowledge of yarn and fabric sourcing and supply base, along with an ability to design across all Knitwear & Jersey product categories, including casual & formal/occasion wear.You will need to be able to work to a critical path and to design products with an awareness of price architecture; margins and selling prices. You must be able to work with the Buyers and Designers as part of a team to deliver consistency and co-ordination across all categories.Applicants should have a degree in design, and a proven record of success working as a Senior Designer. Experience as a Knitwear designer is essential. Previous retail experience would be advantageous.
