Job Description

The client are looking for a Part-Time Project Accountant to manage the finances, accounts and projects for a design and creative agency that specialise in interior design and construction for ultra-high net worth clients. The industry is brilliant and thehead office is based in the West End (Paddington). The successful candidate will be working 3 or 4 days per week and will be exposed to all areas of the accounts and company.Client DetailsOur client is a well-established player in the interior design sector, boasting a 23 person team that service their ultra-high net-worth clients across the UK and . They pride themselves on their meticulous attention to detail, and their commitment to superiorquality and excellence in the services they provide. The successful candidate will be the only person in finance and will be managing the end to end accounts for the company, as well as assisting with any finance related queries from clients and internal stakeholders,relating to any company projects. The main part of the role will be focused on the Project Accounting.DescriptionThe successful Part-Time Project Accountant will:

  • Maintain accurate financial records for projects, recording and categorising expenses.
  • Generate and issue client invoices, ensuring accurate billing of project expenses and services.
  • Review and process project-related expenses, reconciling credit card statements.
  • Monitor project cash flows, coordinate payments to vendors, and address cash flow issues.
  • Prepare regular financial reports and present information to management.
  • Track and analyse project costs, collaborating with project managers and architects.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies across the business.
  • Utilize accounting software proficiently for accurate financial management.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including project managers, designers, and clients across the company.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement within finance and accounting functions.
  • Ad hoc financial reporting for senior management.
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial and sensitive information.
  • Manage time effectively to meet deadlines for financial reporting and other responsibilities.
ProfileThe successful Part-Time Project Accountant will be:
  • Available to work 3 days a week in the office
  • Happy to work 3 or 4 days per week for the company
  • Part qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent) with previous project accounting experience (can also be qualified by experience)
  • Experience of working with purchase ledger, purchase order systems and bank reconciliations
  • Excellent Excel & Microsoft skills as well as aptitude to understand IT set ups and business needs
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail due to time sensitive information and high profile nature of role
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with colleagues throughout the organisation, the board and externally
  • Willingness to be flexible and understand the needs of the design business
  • Keen to understand the industry and eager to learn
Job Offer
  • £50,000 - £60,000 (FTE) // the salary will be pro-rata across 3 or 4 days per week
