An exciting opportunity exists for a bright Design Assistant to join a leading London Interior Design Studio. They are hugely passionate about delivering exceptional interior design for their clients including Luxury Residential, Hotels, Show Apartments and High-End Developers. They have an unrivalled reputation in their sector and the company ethos with regards to staff happiness and development is outstanding.They are now looking for a Design Assistant to support their extremely busy practice and work alongside the rest of the dedicated design team.Main responsibilities will include:-• Supporting Mid-Weight and Senior Designers to ensure smooth day-to-dayoperations and successful delivery of projects of all sizes.• Assisting in taping out furniture on site and reviewing floor plans & schemes.• Sketching up by hand simple furniture layouts.• Producing floor plans, elevation and joinery drawings using AutoCAD.• Assisting in developing presentations in Powerpoint, as well as mood boards,rendered plans and elevations.• Carrying out design tasks under supervision and to take responsibility for elementsas directed.• Assisting with FF&E and fabric selection.• Representing the company in meetings and in interactions with supplier contractorsand consultants.• Obtaining prices, lead times & details of goods for detailing purchase orders.• Setup and managing project records including all contact details and files.• Assisting with FF&E procurement- independently and proactively sourcing goodsand maintaining budgets, with the supervision of seniors.• To build up knowledge of supplier information and keep up to date with currenttrends by attending trade shows and events, as well as attending suppliermeetings.• Assistance on site during installations.• Providing support during project snagging.• Providing styling & general support to the team during project photo shoots.• Assisting in keeping the office space tidy and presentable, as well as helpingmaintain and organise the fabric library and stock room.Experience and Skills required are as follows:-• Proficiency in AutoCAD. Experience with InDesign, Photoshop, and MS Office ispreferred but not essential.• 1 -3 years relevant work experience.• Good initiative and a proactive approach to work.• Passionate and hardworking with a natural design flare.• A team player who contributes to a positive team based culture.• Strong ability to communicate clearly both verbally on the phone, face to face and in writing.• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Interior Design.This really is an amazing opportunity for a Design Assistant who is truly passionate about design and is committed to working for a busy practice within a friendly and dynamic team environment based in a beautiful studio.This is a great company in which to develop and progress and where individuals are highly recognised for a strong work ethic.
