Role title: Assistant Management Accountant/Finance AnalystLocation: Westminster, LondonIndustry: IT ConsultancySalary: Paying £28k - £32k - (DOE)Seniority LevelEntry levelIndustryAccountingEmployment TypeFull-timeJob FunctionsAccounting/AuditingRole summaryThe assistant management accountant role will report directly to the Financial Controller in Pension and Benefits within the People Solutions division.The role will ensure that the leadership teams understand in detail their full P&Ls and variances to budget. This will involve dialogue and meeting with Practice Directors to explain all variances.They will be responsible for the accurate and timely production of monthly performance review packs, month end and aged debtor schedules. As well as working with offshore teams to ensure transactional activities are performed to satisfaction.The role has lots of scope to add further value to the business in supporting their growth opportunities and manage their cost base.ResponsibilitiesExample of some the responsibilities for the role:• Production of monthly review packs including P&L’s, Headcount reporting, WIP, Aged Debt etc.• Revenue recognition in line with IFRS15 including processing of WIPs and deferred income journals• Processing of accruals, prepayments, monthly recharges and GL journals• Working closely with practise directors on management of revenue forecasting • Maintenance of WIP register and deferred income account reconciliation• Preparation and reporting of aged debt to area director and practice directors and supporting monthly cash flow forecasting• Payroll reconciliations; follow up with payroll dept. on anomalies • Bank account reconciliations and processing of payments• Supporting the annual budgeting process for the area• Key point of contact for the invoicing department, commission team, accounts receivable and accounts payable• Key point of contact for offshore team responsible for transactional work• Business partner to practise directors and their wider teams in financial matters• Ad-hoc analysis and providing analysis where required to Area Director, Finance Manager and Finance DirectorKnowledge & Experience• Studying towards (CIMA / ACCA) with a minimum of 2 years in a Finance / Accounting role• Microsoft packages - Outlook, Excel (v-looks, pivot tables) etc.• SAP knowledge (preferred but not essential)• Ability to present and communicate to individuals across the organisation especially non-finance• Use own initiative and proactively manage own workloadWhats in it for youA competitive basic salary23 days holiday (rising to 27) with the opportunity to buy extra leaveStudy Support and opportunities for long term progressionCompany matched pension, life assurance, a cycle2work scheme, 15 weeks fully paid maternity, adoption and shared parental leave…and plenty moreVoluntary benefits designed to suit your lifestyle - from discounts on retail and socialising, to health & wellbeing, travel and technology Required skills
