Violence Against Women and Girls Project Officer PO1: starting salary £35,067 per annumOne Year Fixed Term Contract or Secondment Opportunity Lambeth Council is recognised as a leading local authority in relation to our commitment to, and experience of, addressing Violence Against Women and Girls. This includes a strong partnership response and an innovative approach to service provision for victims of gender-based violence.To ensure that Lambeth continues to maintain a strong partnership approach and continues to support all agencies in working to end violence against women and girls, we are recruiting a Violence Against Women and Girls Project Officer.The post holders main areas of focus will be: Lead on developing a project plan for Lambeth to fulfil the requirement to cooperate with the Greater London Authority (GLA) in the delivery of the new Domestic Abuse Bill duty relating to the provision of support to victims and their children within safe accommodation. Coordinate and administrate the implementation of Lambeths responsibilities under the new duty. Work in partnership with key Greater London Authority (GLA) and Lambeth stakeholders to ensure compliance with and effective delivery of the new duty requirements. Lead on establishing the administration forms, policies and procedures where required. Work in close partnership with staff from the statutory, voluntary and community sector to ensure they are familiar with the new duty and impact on safe accommodation provision. Develop and deliver training and briefing sessions to a range of Lambeth practitioners on the new duty and how to effectively respond to high-risk victims of VAWG. Collect and analyse VAWG referral and demographic data to identify any emerging issues, to ensure that victims from under-represented groups are being supported. Liaise with referral agencies to offer support, guidance and problem solving where needed. Prepare performance reports on the VAWG Teams core work, including statistical reports on high-risk cases for internal and external strategic bodies as required. To contribute to fundraising bids for services and projects that support victims and survivors of VAWG in Lambeth. To contribute to administrative responsibilities in relation to safeguarding victims and survivors of VAWG, including for the Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference (MARAC) and Lambeth Prostitution Group (LPG). To contribute to VAWG development projects including the use of online case note management systems. To contribute to Lambeths VAWG communication strategy to highlight the borough response to tackling VAWG.It is essential therefore that you have demonstrable experience of working within the VAWG sector, and significant experience of working in a multi-agency setting.
