Job Title: Systems EngineerReq ID: 177297BRLocation(s): HarlowThe Weapons team primarily supports the design, development, production and integration activities associated with the Paveway IV Weapon System. The Engineering Team also undertakes numerousdevelopment studies and investigation activities involving weapon performance and platform interfacing.There is an opportunity for someone to join the Weapons team and contribute to its development and growth. This role is ideally suited to an engineer withexperience in the defence industry, ideally with air launched weapon systems.The role will be based at Raytheons Harlow facility and the successful applicant will report directly to the Modelling and Simulation Lead within the Advanced Weapons team. The successfulcandidate will have access to professional development opportunities and be part of the growing Defence Business in Raytheon UK, delivering engineering expertise across a wide range of projects to both military and civil customers worldwide.Main Duties:Thesuccessful applicant will support the Advanced Weapons Team across various Future Systems programmes and will involve the following main duties: Working with the M&S Lead to define work packages and technical requirements Individually contribute to the executionand delivery of key work packages Undertaking activities associated with product development and qualification Work with the Advanced Weapons team to assist in the implementation of the advanced weapons development strategyCandidate RequirementsEssential:Demonstrable experience of the implementation of weapon system modelling and simulation Experience in the use of Matlab and Simulink Experience in the use of Simulink for code generation and for targeting real-time machines Knowledge of the developmentof bespoke weapon performance models Experience of development using of model based systems engineering techniquesDesirable: Knowledge of computational fluid dynamics techniques Familiarity with finite element analysis software Awareness of hydrocode modellingtechniquesAbout Raytheon UKWith facilities in Broughton, Waddington, Glenrothes, Harlow, Gloucester, Manchester with presence across other customer sites also.
