Due to the needs of Charleigh, the service user our client supports, they will only be considering female applicants for this role.Your Rewards- Salary of £9.30 per hour (+£1 per hour night rate enhancement)- Contributory pension scheme- Comprehensive employee assistance programme- Excellent training- Contribute to the development of our clients services- Support a group of incredible individuals in achieving their goalsYour RoleAs a Support Worker, you will be working as part of a small team providing a consistent approach who are determined to work through the No. You will be able to look beyond the difficulties Charleigh experiences to provide exciting and highly engaging support.Youll help to provide boundaries and goals that may take her beyond her comfort zone and push her to achieve basic life skills and engage in meaningful activities and a range of social and leisure opportunities.Things that are important to Charleigh include her family and friends - she has a close family and circle of friends and a great social life and it is important she is supported to maintain this.Charleigh also enjoys going for a drive, or on buses and trains - often with the hope of a pub lunch and the opportunity to watch the world pass by. Charleigh loves water - she goes swimming and enjoys the opportunity to paddle in the sea or feel the sand between her toes. Music and dancing is another favourite and the sillier the dance the better. Charleigh also really enjoys rollercoasters and watching YouTube clips of these and of babies too.Charleigh has recently moved to her own flat and is enjoying making this her own. She has come a long way already and it has been identified it is important to Charleigh to have staff she likes and trusts, who wont let her down and who understand the challenges of life with anxiety and the impact this can have on daily life.Our client is looking for people who truly want to make a difference and provide truly outstanding and innovative support so Charleigh can reach her full potential.About YouTo be considered as a Support Worker, you will need:- Experience of supporting people who have a learning disability, autism, anxiety and who may present with behavioural difficulties arising from their condition- Experience of supporting people who have communication difficulties and use Makaton as their primary form of communication- To be good humoured and resilient- To be patient and reliable- To be down to earth outlook and not take yourself too seriously- An understanding of the challenges of life with anxiety and the impact this can have on daily life- Good communication skillsBeing female is deemed to be a genuine occupational requirement due to the personal care nature of the roles.
