Job Description

Pay: MPS/UPS plus SENA Start Date: September 2021We are looking for a Specialistteacher for Communication and Interaction to join our dynamic SpecialistTeaching and Learning Service based at Goldwyn School Ashford. The successful candidate will havean enthusiasm, commitment and drive to ensure the best possible outcomes forChildren and Young People (CYP) with Special Educational Needs & Disability(SEND); have good communication skills and a solution focus approach to supportworking collaboratively with professionals in statutory and non-statutoryorganisations and supporting schools, groups and individuals to foster aninclusive ethos/principles to meet the needs of all students. Resilience andflexibility are essential. Candidates should have specialistknowledge and experience of C&I, either in a mainstream or special schoolsetting, across age ranges. The ability to travel to meet therequirements of the role is essential. There will be an expectation togain appropriate specific relevant advanced SEND qualification alongside acomprehensive CPD programme. The Team is comprisedof Specialist Teachers with specialisms in Early Years, Cognition and Learning,Social Emotional & Mental Health, Communication and Interaction, HearingImpairment and Visual Impairment. The Specialist Teaching and Learning Serviceaims to work with SENDCos and other professionals to provide high qualityadvice, support, information, training and outreach to mainstream pre-schoolsettings, schools and parents through the LIFT (Local Inclusion Forum Team)referral process. We work alongside pre-schoolsettings, schools and other professionals in providing effective andco-ordinated support. Our aim is that children and young people with SpecialEducational Needs can have their learning, physical, social and emotional needsmet, so that they can be fully included at school and make good educationalprogress.
