Job Description

Software Engineer (PowerShell)Permanent / Hybrid - 2 days on site/ Wiltshire area / £50,000 and bonusWe have an exciting opportunity to join a leading company in the Wiltshire area as a Software Engineerr. You will have the chance to be responsible for developing, operating, and maintaining software scripts and applications supporting various external technologies.The successful Software Engineer will specialise in PowerShell scripting for Microsoft and Non-Microsoft tools, Including access management solutions. The role is a hybrid role, working 2 days on site in the Wiltshire area.Responsibilities

  • Create software solutions based on project requirements, working independently to deliver high-quality results that significantly impact the business.
  • Collaborate with external organisations to integrate technology solutions effectively.
  • Take responsibility for understanding and managing the technical solutions used in critical business systems.
  • Engage with stakeholders to establish clear requirements and document them based on SMART objectives.
  • Adhere to industry-standard development practices and problem-solving.
  • Address and resolve issues with all stakeholders, accurately recording and communicating faults.
  • Participate in vendor service review meetings.
Skills
  • Proficient in scripting tools like PowerShell or Shell Script.
  • Strong programming skills in modern languages like Java, capable of handling the entire software development process from analysing high-level problems to designing, building, and refining solutions.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and technologies, including those like Robotic Process Automation (RPA) that can enhance results.
  • Background in working with configurable software solutions and products.
  • Adaptable to work efficiently within deadlines.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
