Job Description

Senior Network Design EngineerAgency Reference: 7189200Venn Group are currently working alongside a leading Telecommunications Service provider to recruit for a Network Design Engineer. As a Senior Engineer, you will be working within the Converged Voice Engineering team designing new deployments / servicesfor the VoIP Softswitches.Location: RemoteDuration: 26 weeksRate: £450 inside IR35Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gain requirements and team members to design new softswitch based services
  • Coordinate with current vendors to ensure designs are best fit
  • Work with our prospective carriers to define new VoIP interconnects
  • Support SIP Interoperability testing with customers/carriers
  • Prepare High Level Designs for VoIP interconnects
  • Develop strategies for the migration of SIP trunking customers between platforms
  • Interpret Engineering and Architecture documentation to specify test strategy and scope of in-flight projects
Essential Skills:
  • Detailed understanding of SIP and its associated supporting protocols
  • Detailed understanding of VoIP interworking with traditional PSTN services
  • The ability to write detailed high level specifications / designs
  • Excellent communication & presentation skills
  • A background in carrier communications
  • Experience of Microsoft Teams Direct Routing
  • Experience of Ribbon and/or Metaswitch softswitch products
  • IMS core experience and its implementation in either a Fixed or Mobile service environment
  • Experience of telco virtualisation / cloud deployments
