BAFashion, and BA Fashion Branding and Communication sits within the successful Fashion Subject Area at the Arts University Bournemouth. The University prides itself on a very applied, creative practice based approach to learning with close collaboration withinthe BA and MA Fashion courses, the wider creative courses within the University, and industry brand partners.We are looking for a highly motivated, creative and inspirational individual to join our expanding Fashion programmes. The post holder will be flexiblein their approach to practice and committed to student-centered teaching and learning. You will need a current understanding of contemporary portfolio presentation and exhibition methods particularly in launching fashion graduate careers in relation to employabilityand postgraduate study.The post holder will have experience within the profession for example idea and project presentation within the fashion industry, and be capable of the demands of teaching at HE level with experience in devising briefs, delivering inspiringworkshops and lectures and be actively involved in the assessment process. Current Fashion professional / commercial experience is essential.Research is essential to our students to help substantiate their design projects and thesis work as is the abilityto support and enhance their understanding and communication of this in terms of academic writing, referencing and presentation skills will be required. All academic staff are involved with research, often linked with industry and practice, which ensures therelevance and currency of our curriculum. Candidates will need to be highly motivated, enthusiastic, and well-informed to teach across our courses.AUB works closely with industry partners and the role would build on collaborations and new links with live projectsand industry placements. Such industry links may well provide opportunity for staff and student research, projects and knowledge exchange opportunities.A Masters degree in a relevant subject is essential as is Industry experience, evidenced through beinga recognised authority in the subject with internal and external peers as well as having a detailed knowledge and deep understanding of the subjects processes and practices. Candidates will also hold a teaching qualification and FHEA Membership.
