BA Fashion, sits within the successful Fashion Subject Area at the Arts UniversityBournemouth. The University prides itself on a very applied, creative practice based approach to learning with close collaboration with BA Fashion Branding and Communication and MA Fashion courses, as well as the wider creative courses within the Universityand industry brand partners.We are looking for a highly motivated, creative and inspirational individual to join our expanding Fashion programmes. The post holder will be flexible in their approach to practice and committed to student-centered teaching andlearning. You will need a current Understanding of silhouette, design and pattern cutting development processes as well as knowledge and experience of both traditional and digital textile and surface pattern realisation for fashion and fashion product design.Thepost holder will have experience of working within fashion design teams, and be capable of the demands of teaching at HE level with experience in devising briefs, delivering inspiring workshops and lectures and be actively involved in the assessment process.Current Fashion professional / commercial experience is essential.AUB works closely with industry partners and the role would build on collaborations and new links with live projects. Such industry links may well provide opportunity for staff and student research,projects and knowledge exchange opportunities.All academic staff are involved with research, often linked with industry and practice, which ensures the relevance and currency of our curriculum. Candidates will need to be highly motivated, enthusiastic, andwell-informed to teach across our courses.A Masters degree in a relevant subject is essential as is Industry experience, evidenced through being a recognised authority in the subject with internal and external peers as well as having a detailed knowledgeand deep understanding of the subjects processes and practices. Candidates will also hold a teaching qualification and FHEA Membership. A PhD is desirable.
