Job Description

Senior Development ManagerDept: Development & Alumni RelationsStarting from £41,526, rising to £49,553Ref: CC8572Do you want to make a difference helping students and researchers fulfil their ambitionsYou will play a key role in raising significant philanthropicincome from a portfolio of UK donors and prospects to increase our student scholarships and research opportunities.We have an exciting position based within the Universitys Individual Philanthropy team and we are seeking a highly ambitious and experiencedmanager to cultivate excellent relationships with the individuals who can help us reach our ambitious goals.The University of Bath is a nationally and internationally leading University placed in the top 10 rankings of three major national league tables. TheDepartment of Development & Alumni Relations (DDAR) plays a leading role in the Universitys excellence through philanthropic support and partnerships.As a key member of the Major Gifts team, you will manage a pool of 80 - 100 major donors and prospects capableof supporting the University with five, six and seven figure gifts for areas from student scholarships to philanthropic research. Your background is likely to be in higher education or the not-for-profit sectors, ideally with experience of income generationand you must be able to work well under pressure in a complex, multi-national and culturally diverse environment.As a Senior Development Manager, you will have demonstrable success in storytelling, relationship management and raising significant philanthropicgifts. Confident and credible you will have knowledge and understanding of how to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward major prospects in the UK. You will act as the departmental link with the Faculty of Engineering and Design, you will work collaborativelywith those colleagues as well as the senior management team and other offices to maximise gift potential from prospects who may have multiple associations and interests.During the current period, you will be expected to work from home for which equipment willbe provided to support you in your role. In time, once normal service resumes, it will be a blended role; UK travel will be required as well as a presence on campus.
