Job type - Fixed term contract until April 30th 2022Salary - £21,327Hours - Full time - 35 per week + Plus 5 hours paid lunch9-5 Monday - Friday with one late night once per month.Location- WolverhamptonWe are a national social justice charity with morethan 50 years experience of changing lives, building stronger communities and reducing crime. Last year alone we helped support, house, educate, advise and speak out for 38,000 disadvantaged young people and adults - and you could now help us make an evenbigger impact going forward.Nacro is the lead partner in the Recovery Near You partnership, a large and vibrant integrated substance misuse service covering the Wolverhampton area. Recovery near you has been recognised as being a front runner in providingsafe and comprehensive care throughout the Covid Pandemic, and we are currently moving from virtual to face to face interventions. It is also an evolving service so you will be joining us at an exciting time where lots of new initiatives are being commisioned.RNYworks closely with commisioners to provide quality care across a range of settings such as GP surgeries, Criminal Justice settings, community based hubs, New Cross Hospital, pharmacies, outreach work on street walks, and at two key hubs; the Treatment hub,and the Recovery hub. There is also a young persons team that currently sits within the treatment hub that goes out to schools and family homes to support young people.We are currently in search of a Recovery Support Worker to work within our Recovery NearYou substance misuse service based in a busy Recovery Hub. The primary focus of the role is to support service users to reach their goals in line with a recovery focus embedded service, using all treatment interventions and planning methods, available andapplicable.This role will be situated in the Recovery Team at Thornhurst recovery hub and will be required to carry a caseload of stable clients who are in recovery.This is an entry level post for the service and there is a lot of opportunity for advancementwithin the various teams across the service. The Recovery team that you will be part of is a small and close knit team of 5 Recovery support workers, we work closely with the Service User Involvement Team (SUIT) and the recovery team is exceptional in supportingeach other with a mix of skills and knowledge.Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:Who are we looking for The successful candidate will possess basic Literacy/English with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Experienceworking with vulnerable adults/marginalized cohorts is desirable, could be experience within housing, mental health, criminal justice settings, education, hostel work, or other social care provisions ( Voluntary experience is welcomed as part of the requirements.)Good time management skills Good IT Skills An NVQ in health and social care is desirable but not essential. Some level of drug and alcohol awareness is desirable. Ability to care plan effectively. Understanding of motivational tools and ability to supportservice users to make positive lifestyle changes. Compassionate and non judgmental approach that seeks to find solutions for service users and promotes empowerment.
