No other organisation brings such an incredible array of places and spaces to life.Beningbrough Hall is a Grade 1 listed Mansion about to embark on a series of infrastructureenhancements to transform our long term visitor offer. The gardens are being redeveloped in a 10 year plan by award winning designerAndy Sturgeon and the Hall is undergoing key infrastructure works to enable the development of a unique and ambitious country house experience.Click here for more information about this locationWhat youll be doing This role is accountable for providing support,technical expertise and hands on practical assistance to the project team in the care and conservation of the collections and interiors throughout the works. The project conservator will be an integrated member of a multi-disciplinary project team. The workentails packing of collections for storage, material protection of interiors, elements of supervising contractors work and documentation relating to the collections and interiors that could be at risk throughout the project.Please also read the full role profile,attached to the end of this advert.Who were looking for As a qualified Conservator with ARC accreditation (or demonstratable experience of working to that standard) with substantial post qualification experience youll have an in-depth knowledge of preventiveand remedial conservation of collections and historic interiors.You will have substantial of experience working collaboratively as part of a fast-moving team to a demanding schedule. Youll be highly organised, able to demonstrate strong leadership and projectmanagement skills, excellent negotiating and influencing skills, and the ability to deal with challenging situations with diplomacy and professionalism. With extensive applied experience of caring for buildings and collections, youll possess the confidenceto assess, mitigate, report and record the management of conservation risks during the project.Experience of managing conservation during a major refurb project, capital or transitional period would be beneficial to support your application for the role.
