Job Description

- Are you looking to work for a growing Retailer based in Nailsea- Great opportunity to progress your Warehouse Leadership CareerClient DetailsOur Client is a Distributor of high end Homeware goods, they have a fantastic culture and are looking for a New Operations Supervisor with a great opportunity to add your stamp within the operation.They are based within the Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain Sector.DescriptionThe responsbilities of the Operations Supervisor will include to Supervise the logistics operation ensuring all processes are conducted safely and efficiently by the DC Operatives. Utilising effective communication skills to ensure the team remain motivatedand focused on the tasks in hand and an overall positive morale is maintained.

  • Supervise the DC Operatives throughout all warehouse management processes
  • Support with the training of new team members and ongoing coaching of the DC
  • Operatives raising skills gaps to the Operations Manager
  • Supervise the picking process; prioritising workflow, customer collection times, VAS activity and resource availability
  • Ensure both the Web Shop and Drop Ship runs efficiently and that DC operatives are sufficiently trained and informed of customer requirements
  • Supervise the goods in process ensuring the relevant paperwork is completed in line with standard guidelines
  • Support in the planning, unloading and loading of containers; booking in and organise resource
  • Ensure awareness of the VAS activity (Value Added Service)
  • Supervise the returns process ensuring the Warehouse Management System is updated accurately and in a timely manner
  • Support the Operations Manager with the management of external providers
  • Responsible for the ordering of consumables in agreement with the Operations Manager and departmental budgets
  • Lead on the initial stages of performance and absence management such as; records of informal discussion and return to work interviews escalating concerns to the Operations Manager
  • Ensure the health, safety, cleanliness and security of the work environment
  • Promote a high level of morale, discipline and productivity with the department
  • Ensure that Health and Safety guidelines are always followed, and that the team carry out their responsibilities
  • Ensure housekeeping is maintained at the highest standard across the Distribution Centre
ProfileThe Successful Operations Supervisor will have exposure to the following;Essential- Working knowledge of Warehouse Operations- Experience within D2C, (Direct to Consumer), functionality of Operations - minimum 1 year.- Excellent communicator- Active team player with the ability to motivate team members- Health & safety literate 2 + yearsDesirable- Previous supervisory experience- Six Sigma or LEAN certification preferred, but not required- FMCG experienceJob OfferThe Successful Operations Supervisor will receive;
  • A salary between £24,000 - £28,000 depending on experience
  • 22 Days + Bank Holidays
  • Pension Scheme
