Job Description

Major Donor ManagerLocation: UK Flexible (this role will involve regular travel into London and around the UK)Salary : circa £40,000 including ILW where applicableContract type: PermanentHours : 35Could you lead and help shape our Major Donor Team to develop high value relationships with exciting and leading philanthropists Are you able to generate income which is essential to our continued support of people in crisis in the UK and around the worldFollowing renewed investment and ambition of the organisation in major gifts, the British Red Cross are looking for an ambitious Major Donor Manager who will be responsible for managing a portfolio of major donors and prospects, preparing high quality, tailored solicitation and stewardship plans, and working with senior volunteers and leadership to secure major donor support at the £50k+ level.This is a great opportunity as you will lead on projects in the Major Donor team and will represent the department on cross-team working groups, building strong, mutually beneficial relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation.Reporting to the Deputy Head of Major Donors, you will work closely with the leadership team to support the development and implementation of a brand new Major Donor strategy and collaborate with senior stakeholders and peers from across the organisation to maximise pipeline opportunities for the Fundraising and Supporter Engagement Directorate.If you are an enthusiastic, ambitious Major Donor professional, this is a fantastic opportunity to hold a key post within a newly formed Philanthropy Department at an exciting time for major donor fundraising within the organisation.Our team are united by one goal - to help people in crisisYour role will be based within our Philanthropy Department, which raises essential income through strategic collaborations with philanthropists, trusts & foundations.The Philanthropy Department is a key part of the Fundraising Division and looks to maximise the income raised from philanthropists, trusts & foundations and through prestige events. The Major Donor Team is responsible for developing long-term high yield relationships with key individuals who can make significant financial contributions to the organisation.The Major Donor team relies upon ambitious and skilled individuals able to capitalise on their specialist knowledge and experience.
