To fulfil the professional responsibilities and standards of a Waldorf Kindergarten Teaching Assistant; promoting the schools mission; supporting and delivering high quality teaching support to ensure that children are cared for and make progress through a rich, creative and innovative curriculum. To hold a bearing and presence which inspires imitation and who interacts in a way which cultivates and nourishes childrens holistic development.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESTo promote the schools mission and to fulfil the professional responsibilities described in the position purpose, described above, including to:Teaching The Kindergarten Teaching Assistant has primary responsibility to work alongside the Kindergarten teacher, and to support the welfare and education of the children in their care. This includes: supporting the creative play, artistic and domestic activities; the celebration of festivals and work with parents, carers and families. Help to maintain a beautiful, clean, nurturing and enabling environment. Take on the role of EYFS Key Person to a number of children in the group if required, with the support of the Kindergarten teacher. Use observations of the children to contribute to the assessments, and feeding these back to the Kindergarten teacher. Help the Kindergarten teacher to maintaining a clean, beautiful and nurturing environment both inside and out. Have an understanding of the Health and Safety & Safeguarding regulations of the setting. Respond to the needs of the children and support their learning and development, reporting to the Kindergarten teacher. Develop an applied interest in the pedagogical philosophy of a Waldorf EC curriculum. Make sure you are able to understand and carry out your duties according to the changing needs of the curriculum as it progresses through the year, paying attention to, familiarsing with and supporting the content in ring time, story and activities. Attend meetings essential to supporting the Kindergarten.Health, Safety and Safeguarding At all times, promote the safety and wellbeing of children; Maintain good order and manage behaviour among children when required in order to maintain a good and safe environment. Be aware of keeping children safe in school, including Child Protection, and working with the Kindergarten teacher/Lead and Safeguarding Officer to report any issues which are of concern.Personal and Professional Conduct Communicate effectively with children, parents and carers; Collaborate and work with colleagues and other relevant professionals within and beyond the school; Develop effective professional relationships with colleagues; Maintain high standards of ethics and behaviour within and outside of the school; Have due regard for the ethos, policies and practices of the school and maintain professional standards of attendance, appearance and punctuality;Whole School Organisation, Strategy and Development Safeguard and promote the welfare of children at all times, follow school policies and the staff code of conduct; Contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of the schools policies, practices and procedures, so as to support the schools values and vision; Make a positive contribution to the wider life, the culture and ethos of the school; Provide cover for other teaching staff where necessary.The postholder may be required to do other duties appropriate to the level of the role, as directed by the appropriate Kindergarten Teacher/Lead.
