The Stockwood Park Academy is recruiting an Interim Head of PE Female, to lead and manage the exceptional PE Faculty from September 2021. The PE department is a large, enthusiastic and dynamic department consisting of 8 members of staff. We offer a variedextracurricular timetable ensuring a mix of competing team practices and recreational fun activities to encourage participation and having a healthy active lifestyle. These activities range from Rugby, football, netball, cricket, dodgeball, tennis, badmintonand rounders.The curriculum offers a diverse and inclusive approach ensuring students understand the reasons behind participation. We ensure we focus on a range of team, individual and fitness-based activities. These range from Football, Netball, Rugby, Badminton,circuit training, boxercise. Dance is offered at the school but through the Performing Arts department.At Key Stage 4 we offer the students a route to further develop their interest in the sports industry. We have great success in Pearson GCSE Physical Educationand a vocational option through the Level 1/2 NCFE Health and Fitness. As a trust we currently offer a wide range of 6th form subjects - sport included. At the trust we have a football and a cricket Academy where students study Level 3 Cambridge Technicalalongside their training. Students not part of the sports academies can also take the sports course without being a part of them alongside other courses. The Stockwood Park Academy is committed to providing excellent CPD for aspiring Middle Leaders and for all new staff theschool offer a comprehensive and supportive induction programme and you will also have access to a rich and varied CPD programme within the Academy and across the Trust.Key Duties To develop, plan and deliver effective and high-quality learning experiencesto all students, improving upon GCSE outcomes and developing and leading THE SIXTH FORM provision Be accountable for the learning and achievement of all students Be accountable for the vision of the subject team Motivate subject staff (teaching and support)and lead a highly effective team through personal example and thoughtful delegation and deployment Adhere to the Academys rigorous procedures for recording, monitoring, analyzing and acting upon a range of data Be well informed and up to date with nationaldevelopments, curriculum innovation and resources for learning.The successful candidate will Experienced PE leader, engaging and ability to hit the ground running and physically fit Secondary teaching experience across both KS3, KS4 and KS5 is desirable Anoutstanding, research-informed practitioner with a proven record of raising attainment for students A confident and competent user of data, able to empower others in its use to support outstanding pedagogy Promote the educational success and outstanding outcomesof all our students through strong leadership Have excellent communication skills and enthuse staff and implement ideas Experience of a large multicultural school be seen as reliable, approachable and discreet, a team leader and a team player being flexibleand adaptable Ability to run a Football Academy or have experience of an academic sports college would be advantageous.
