Job Description

This is a great opportunity for a financial accountant with a broad range of experience to assist my client with month end responsibilities and assisting with the external audit.Client DetailsMy client are a major plc that are very well known and leaders in their field.DescriptionThe key responsibilities:

  • Managing a team of 6 transactional staff members
  • Managing Period end, general ledger, and reconciliation cycles.
  • Manage specific accounting and budgetary requirements. This will include IFRS16 accounting.
  • Assisting the SLT as a contact for the External Auditors ensuring that the audits are completed within deadlines.
  • 100% completion of Balance Sheet reconciliations.
  • Accurate corporate reporting accounting.
  • Fixed asset reconciliations and counts.
  • External Audit deadlines met.
  • Process improvement initiatives.
  • Responsibility for the Central balance sheet- ensuring that reconciliations are completed, reviewed, and reconciling items are actioned on a timely basis.
  • Ownership of the Fixed Asset process - ensuring ongoing conformance and accounting.
  • Identify areas for continued improvement and create a controls environment in line with the accounting controls framework to mitigate the risk of material error or misstatement.
  • Provide cover for team members.
  • Other accounting duties and projects as required to support the Financial Shared Services Centre
ProfileThe successful candidate will possess:
  • A full accountancy qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • Excellent reconciliation skills.
  • Ability to identify process improvements that deliver quality / efficiency benefits.
  • A keen eye for detail and financial controls.
  • Strong technical accounting skills and knowledge of accounting standards.
  • Be able to work under pressure and prioritise whilst maintaining high standards.
  • Ability to effectively work across teams.
  • High proficiency in excel including pivot tables and formulas.
Job OfferThere is a competitive salary of £50-55k depending on experience. This is a hybrid role with 2 days a week required onsite in Chippenham
