Job Description

Pay: MPS/UPS plus SEN allowanceStart Date: September 2021Amherst School (Academy) Trust isa 3 form entry junior school that achieves high academic standards across awide curriculum. Situated in a pleasant residential area, the school is oversubscribed and enjoys tremendous support from parents and governors. We have a vacancy for an InclusionManager/SENCO to enhance the good provision in the school and develop furtherthe strategic provision of SEN. The successful candidate should hold theNational Award or be willing to study for this programme. This role is for three days per week (0.6 FTE). The majority of our children transfer fromRiverhead Infants School. Our Ofsted inspection in January 2019 reported thatour leaders and governors provide clear direction, which creates a strong senseof community and purpose which motivates staff and pupils to achieve very well.The report also stated that:Staff are fully committed todelivering the schools values of trust, kindness, determination, politeness,fairness and cooperation; they all said they are proud to work at the school.Parents responded very positively and in large numbers to Ofsteds onlinequestionnaire. They listen well and respect other peoples ideas. Their attitudes tolearning are extremely positive. Pupils enjoy their learning and talk abouttheir determination to do as well as they can. Pupils say that they enjoy thevery wide range of extra-curricular activities on offer, currently over 50clubs. These are varied and high quality.
