Job Description

HR Advisor (Support)£15.16 per hour PAYEContract positionRemote workingWho will you be working forOur client, a non-ministerial government department, is on the lookout for a short term HR Advisor resource to support the team during the current peak in work, which will pay dividends by mitigating risks, tackling endemic issues and providing future efficiencies in their people management practices by allowing existing HRAs to fully focus on high risk casework and policy improvements. This is an initial contract until March 2021 with the role being based remotely.What you will be doingA number of projects have been pushed back due to the events of this year and the organisation require support, time and resource to get things back on track. This is not pure HR work but requires someone to understand policy and procedures, organisational design and how to kick off projects.Short term expert HR support would enable the delivery of the following;

  • Support the implementation of outsourcing of recruitment transactional activity in conjunction with the lead HRA on projects
  • Compliance action required to be part of recruitment internal Fraud database
  • End of year moderation in the performance management / appraisal cycle
  • Recruitment compliance audit
  • HRSS - fresh eye to streamline processes and forms including GDPR issues
  • Working with Procurement to switch to Eye Test voucher scheme and other no pay reward strategies
  • Development of PowerPoint/slides/interactive content for line managers on existing policy
  • Provide some audit/sense checking on existing policy and make suitable recommendations for the HRA Policy lead to implement
  • What can you bring to the roleYou will be a strong communicator, able to speak to people of all levels and work alongside senior managers and stakeholders, with excellent written skills. You must understand how businesses operate and implement change, as well as how messages "land" and experience of working in an hierarchical environment, ideally one in which is unionised. Also required will be some experience of legal frameworks such as GDPR, Employment Law, H&S, effective analytical skills and competent use of Microsoft products such as Word, Excel Outlook and Teams. You will need to be self-motivated and be able to hit the ground running.Experience in a HR environment previously would be a strong ideal, as would a background in the public or third sector.Please note that you will be required to go through Baseline Security clearance if successful.Capita ARC is acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy.
