Job Description

Summary As a Health System Engagement Manager for south west and south central you join us at an exciting time as we expand our regional team and the scope of our regional work to more effectively reach out to, engage and support more people to live well with alltypes of diabetes, to prevent or delay the onset of Type 2 diabetes and ultimately to achieve our vision of a world where diabetes can do no harm.We work with extraordinary people in the health system and supporting them has never been more important. The two Regional Health Systems Engagement Managers will work closely with our Regional Health Systems Engagement Lead, to play a key role in improvingoutcomes and reducing variation for people with, and at risk of, diabetes through improvements in care, treatment and prevention services. Youll do this by influencing, supporting, building strong relationships and working collaboratively with commissioners,frontline healthcare professionals (HCP), people living with, and at risk of, diabetes and other agencies/organisationsInterview Date: Thursday 4 August 2022We would consider flexibility on where this role could be based within the south west and south central regionPlease note that all job offers are subject to you providing acceptable evidence of your eligibility to work in the UK. Main Responsibilities As a Health System Engagement Manager you will deliver agreed plans to improve outcomes for people living with/at risk of diabetes by working to reduce variation and improve care, treatment, and prevention via influencing and partnership working activity.You will build trusted relationships to increase understanding of diabetes, encourage uptake of Diabetes UK tools and resources and support health system professionals and communities to improve diabetes care. You will monitor delivery of service provisionand continuously gather frontline insights and intelligence to inform our thinking and work, including actively listening to and working alongside people living with/at risk of diabetes to ensure their voice is heard within the system. You will work with theHeath Systems Engagement Lead and other colleagues across south west and south central and the wider organisation to drive sustainable changes for improvements in diabetes care utilising influence, support, campaigning and mobilisation as appropriate. Ideal Candidate As a Health System Engagement Manager you will have a highly developed strategic mindset and critical thinking skills to translate high level strategic priorities into clear and achievable objectives and workplans. You will have deep experience of workingwith multiple health systems on senior level influencing, systems thinking and working in partnership to challenge the status quo and drive care improvement in local systems. You will have experience of identifying practical steps and approaches to take inthe face of complexity and uncertainty, and be able to demonstrate experience of using a powerful, common vision to energise and inspire colleagues and partners to work differently. You will be able to demonstrate proven experience of building and managingproductive senior level relationships with fluency, confidence, and a high degree of personal credibility. Your strong understanding and demonstrable experience of involving people with health conditions from all walks of life in healthcare improvement willplay a key part in influencing improvements in local care.
