Job Description

Aboutthis opportunity This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic senior leader to play a strategic role in the International Directorate of the British Red Cross. The Head of Region defines the vision, identifies and catalyses opportunities in line with ourCorporate Strategy, International Strategy and the Regional Action Plans, specific to the region, needs and context. Using your considerable experience in humanitarian and development assistance, coordination and resource mobilisation, you will be a spokespersonand technical adviser on the region, the Red Cross Movements role and footprint within it and act as the connection to the humanitarian system more broadly. What were looking for You will have significant experience of maintaining strategic and operationalpartnerships and collaborating with an extensive stakeholder network. Additionally, you will have the proven experience of representing international organisations at a senior level in operational contexts within the humanitarian or international developmentsector. You will have strong and proven team and line management skills, with the ability to manage large teams with broad remits in complex and remote environments. You are motivated to role model a high-level of management standards. You will have strongfinancial management skills with the ability to manage a large and complex budget. You will have good knowledge of fundraising and resource mobilisation opportunities, including institutional fundraising and private sector engagement. You should be able tocommunicate and influence a diverse range of internal and external partners. If you have a working knowledge of French and / or Arabic will be a distinct advantage. About the Programmes and Partnerships Team The Head ofRegion for MENA sits within the Programmes and Partnerships department and provides oversight of our relationships and support, including disaster responses, to Red Cross Movement partners. Currently, we have one current cluster office based in Beirut, Lebanonthat oversees our Syria Crisis programming in Syria, Lebanon and Iraq. Our programming for Libya, Yemen and Turkey is overseen by country cluster management based in London. The department works in partnership with National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies,the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
