Part-time (28 hours per week) and based at our Kendal Office at Murley Moss, Oxenholme Road. Starting Salary: £45,399 per annum pro-rata (£36,319, 0.8 F.T.E.)Thank you for your interest in the position of Head of Finance and Operations at Friends of the Lake District, this is a newly created role and you will be joining the charity at an exciting time in its development. We are an independent charity and the only membership organisation dedicated to protecting and enhancing Cumbrias landscapes. We believe that the Lake District offers some of the most spectacular and precious landscapes in England. We take action to protect and conserve the natural beauty of these landscapes for the benefit of visitors, local communities, wildlife and habitats.The Head of Finance and Operations will be a critical role within the organisation and will report directly to the Chief Executive. The post holder will operate at a strategic and operational level, taking overall responsibility for the financial management, human resource planning and operations of the charity.We are looking for someone who will lead on all activities related to strategic planning and analysis, reporting and forecasting, profit planning and workforce management. Providing timely, accurate, and relevant financial analysis the Head of Finance and Operations will identify improvement opportunities, develop plans and drive projects forward.To be successful in this role you will need to be a qualified accountant (or QBE) with experience of leading change, building organisational capability and driving performance, with demonstrable experience across finance, HR, IT and operations.You must demonstrate a passion for the Lake District and Cumbrian Landscapes and an understanding of the work and aims of the Charity in advocating for and protecting these landscapes.
