Job Description

Are you a social entrepreneurProspectus is delighted to be partnering with Pilotlight to appoint their new Head of Business Development. Pilotlight is a social enterprise which tackles disadvantage by facilitating and promotion the sharing of professionalskills to help charities help people. They do this by selling a service to businesses that is of benefit to them and to charities. Running programmes in which business partners employees use their skills to support charities can be a valuable learning experienceas well as a way to give back.The Head of Business Development will play a lead role in building our partnerships with business and in the formation of new services of value to business and charity. As Pilotlight bridges the world of charity and business,we are looking for someone who may come from either sector, with an interest in the other, and above all is able to be a social entrepreneur. This means you will have the competences to manage a team on business development and to lead on account management,but you will also have the instincts to identify and realise commercial opportunities in support of our social purpose.The Head of Business Development will be responsible for leading the growth, account management, and development of Pilotlights businesspartnerships and individual members areas that generate the majority of Pilotlights income. You will effectively lead three Partnerships Managers and one Memberships Manager, who focus on business development strategies with new prospects and provide excellentcustomer care and account management. Reporting to the Deputy Chief Executive, you will be joining at an exciting, pivotal moment for Pilotlights development.The selected candidate will have demonstrable experience in generating significant new business andwill enjoy working to ambitious targets, ideally in a variety of industries. You will be a natural relationship builder and confident networker whose knowledge will include how different sectors interact and can learn from one another.
