Job Description

Weston College is the regional education provider for the Prison Education Framework (PEF) contract across the South West of England.We are currently expanding our team to include Generalist Lecturers who will work in the South West Region, across a small designated cluster of prisons.These roles are full time, working 37 hours per week.Within the South West Region, we are the education provider in 9 prisons, and we currently have vacancies for the following two clusters:

  • Bristol Cluster: HMP Bristol, HMP Leyhill and HMP Eastwood Park.
  • Dorset Cluster: HMP The Verne, HMP Portland and HMP Guys Marsh.
As this is a regional role, you will need to hold a full driving licence and have access to your own vehicle.Day to day duties
  • To deliver a high-quality curriculum delivering a variety of courses, including English and Maths or an alternative as led by the Weston College management team.
  • Organisational and administrative work.
  • Preparation, assessment and marking.
Required skills and qualifications
  • A Degree, or professional qualification, which is appropriate to the work.
  • All candidates for teaching posts must possess a recognised Teaching Qualification, or be prepared to gain within the first two years of service, with the assistance of the College.
  • Knowledge and experience of current teaching and learning strategies
