Job Description

We are seeking to appoint Exam Invigilators to join our innovative team as soon as possible to work within our high performing Academy. This is a casual role, hours as and when required.About UsHarris City Academy Crystal Palace is a mixed Academy for1,300 students aged 11-18, with a large sixth form of over 350 students. The Academy has three consecutive Outstanding judgments by Ofsted, with the most recent inspection in 2014 finding the Academy to be Outstanding in every aspect. We are a consistentlyhigh performing school; in 2019, our progress 8 score was 0.61, 94% of our students achieved a 4+ in English and 86% in maths. Our motto, All Can Achieve encapsulates our vision that all members of the Academy community are supported and encouraged to achievetheir absolute potential.Main Areas of ResponsibilityTo support the Exams Officer with the day-to-day operation of examination venues. Activities may include: Assisting with setting-up examination venues by laying out stationery, equipment and examinationpapers in accordance with strict procedures. Assisting candidates prior to the start of examinations by directing them to their seats and advising them about possessions permitted in examination venues. Ensuring that candidates do not talk once inside examinationvenues. Invigilating during examinations, dealing with queries raised by candidates and dealing with examination irregularities in accordance with strict procedures. Checking attendance during examinations. Recording details of late arrivals. Escorting candidatesfrom venues during the examinations as required, and supervising candidates whilst outside examination venues. Collecting and collating scripts at the end of the examination in accordance with strict procedures. Assisting with the preparation of script envelopes.Supervising candidates leaving examination venues, ensuring that candidates do not remove equipment or stationery from the venue without authorisation and ensuring that candidates leave venues in an orderly and quiet manner.To assist Examinations Office staffwith other examination processes. Activities may include: Assisting with the packing of examination papers, stationery and equipment prior to the examinations and the delivery to and from venues as appropriate.
