The starting salary for this position is £35,382 per annum for a 36 hour working week.This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a small team responsible for the delivery of all aspects of driver training to employees of Surrey Fire and Rescue Serviceand its partner organisations. The Service provides emergency services throughout the county, 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year and has invested in a wide range of modern specialised vehicles to fulfil its role.As a Driver Trainer within Learning andDevelopment you will be part of a team of three Instructors responsible for all aspects of driver training delivery. This is a varied role that involves training staff to drive and operate everything from forklift trucks, off road driver training and saferesponse driving in cars and large vehicles. The main focus will be training delivery in LGV class vehicles including training staff to obtain their vocational licence. You will have a good knowledge of the legislation around response driving. You will beexpected to gain sufficient qualifications and experience to gain a place on the National Fire Chiefs Council response driving instructor register within 12 months of appointment. This is a full-time role, nominally 36 hours per week but a flexible approachto work is essential as you will be required to adapt your hours to meet the needs of the service. Some weekend and evening work is also required.A good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of products is essential as well as being able to use a varietyof other computer-based systems. This is to evidence the training delivered an enter information onto a variety of data bases.To be shortlisted to interview for this position your application will clearly evidence: Current DVLA category B manual car licenceCurrent DVLA category B+E manual car + trailer licence Current DVLA category C manual LGV licencePlease note, DVLA licences must have been held for a minimum of 3 years with less than 7 current penalty points and free from disqualifications.
