Job Description

The Role & Key Responsibilities Job Title:Desktop Services Engineer - 6 mth Fixed Term ContractLocation: Hybrid role, very flexible could work in any of our ABF sites once a weekAre you a pro-active and customer focused person Do you have a service desk background and a strong technical understanding of PC Hardware, Office 365 andperiphals If so this may be a perfect match! In this role you will be supporting a varied customer base across the ABF group with a mixed range of needs.Reporting to the Desktop Services Team Leader, you will be working with a collaborative, flexible andfriendly team with the opportunity to work with hardware, software, network platforms and microsoft windows OS suite.What you will be doing;

  • Ensure service levels are met and maintained by providing reactive and proactive support in a timely and accurate fashion.
  • Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end user workstation hardware, peripheral devices, and networking hardware products.
  • Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot associated end user workstation software and networking software products.
  • Support users in local and remote network connectivity and access, troubleshooting and resolving any connectivity issues.
  • Ensure configuration information for hardware and software items is maintained within the SSCs CMDB.
  • Perform on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex PC problems recommending and implementing corrective solutions, including off-site repair as needed.
What will you bring;
  • Good technical knowledge and proven experience of supporting PChardware and peripherals
  • Good technical knowledge and proven experience of supportingMicrosoft Windows OS suite and products
  • Pro-active and customer focused individual able to offer a high level of customer service to internal colleagues/users
  • Able to read and understand technical manuals, proceduraldocumentation and OEM guides.
  • Ability to conduct research into PC issues and products as required.
  • Experience of working within an ITIL framework with additional relevant tech qualifications would be advantageous
