Empowering Learning are supporting a SEN Group who are seeking to appoint a Deputy Headteacher on a permanent basis within a new provision based in the West Midlands, catering for children with SEMH and ASD.The school is a newly opened service and situatedon a 12-acre site offering an integrated residential, education and care package for children between 8 and 19 years with a wide range of complex needs, Autism and associated learning disabilities The school is purpose built, modern and welcoming with a rangeof specialist learning areas including an indoor and outdoor riding school and outdoor gymnasium.You will be an integral part of the Senior Leadership Team, providing a high level of strategic, managerial and operational direction for the school, particularlyin relation to Curriculum, Teaching, Learning and Assessment. You will have the opportunity to impact significantly on the future direction and outcomes of the school. The successful candidate will have experience of working with young people with a rangeof complex learning needs. You will be able to demonstrate a working understanding of how these needs impact upon learning and behaviour in the classroom. You may have specialist knowledge and experience of working with autistic spectrum disorder or childrenwith social, emotional and mental health difficulties. Or you may have experience of working across both specialisms. You will have a Nationally Recognised Degree and relevant Qualified Teaching Status (QTS).As Deputy Headteacher you will have management andteaching responsibilities with a focus on achieving positive outcomes for young people. You will be expected to contribute to the organisation, management and supervision of school routines and curriculum.
