Job Description

Data StewardStart: ASAPly until the end of OctoberRate: £250.00pd outside IR35Remote working availableWe are currently working with an organisation who require the interim support of an interim Data Steward.This Data Stewards primary focus will be to ensure high levels of data quality, integrity, completeness, security and usability across the service, adhering to corporate policies and procedures at all times. They will be responsible for the sourcing, handling,manipulation, entry and change management of all data that needs to be uploaded to and stored in the new 365 TMS and SharePoint solution.The Data Steward will be required to work on the programmes Digital, Data & Technology (DDaT) workstream, supporting the delivery of the following key projects:

  • TMS Implementation: the implementation of a new transport management system (TMS) for the CHYPTS365 Responses 365 TMS
  • Master Data Management: the design and implementation of the services new data strategy and its new data governance, management principles, policies, processes and roles and responsibilities
  • Enabling Technologies: the implementation of a new SharePoint solution for the service, to store documents and data that cannot be held within the 365 TMS
Role Responsibilities
  • Drive data governance activities within the service through project delivery, including understanding accountability, policy, compliance and data quality issue tracking and resolution
  • Support the day-to-day stewardship to drive data-decision making processes and facilitate discussions to address conflicting viewpoints with the goal of arriving at mutually satisfactory agreements
  • Guide the service, through project delivery, to solutions for information sourcing, provisioning, consumption, standardisation and reporting & analytics
  • Drive resolution of data information and processing challenges that have an adverse impact on the operational environment and / or service performance, continually identifying opportunities for improvement and incorporating them into the data strategy
  • Take the lead on projects involving upstream and downstream data flows and processes to ensure compliance with data governance policy
  • Create reporting around data governance progress for key stakeholders and management and conduct as-needed alignment meetings on strategic data-driven initiatives
  • Implement the user access policies defined by the DDaT workstream
  • Ensure that data quality is maintained during any / all technical processing (such as data entry or Extract-Transport-Load processes and operations).
