Job Description

An experienced Data Architec is required for a South, UK based award winning organisation.The Data Archtect is responsible for appropriate architecture and design of end to end solutions and ensuring their alignment to strategic enterprise and business architectures.This is a specialist role that has a focus on data and information platforms and associated technologies that contribute to the development of systems architectures as part of the transformation and build of business capability.Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for baselining the current data and information landscape and evangelises data architecture through modelling, strategy, road mapping, and standards; evolves the vision and future state architecture that influences and aligns to Evidence, Insightsand Technology goals and objectives.
  • Maps, and collaborates with key stakeholders Data Governance & Analytics function
  • Supports the management of practices and processes to ensure the security, integrity, safety and availability of all forms of data
  • Fulfils the role of subject matter expert providing direction and assurance across BAU, Programmes and Projects, ensuring that advice and decisions are underpinned by strategic Enterprise Architecture direction.
  • Develops innovative ways of managing the information of the organisation whilst ensuring that EA tooling is maintained and accurate.
  • Engages in architectural governance processes; upholding and applying strategic Enterprise Architecture direction; conducting peer review of artefacts developed by other Solution or Application Architects.
  • Devising data models, structures and management standards to support consistency of information definition retrieval, combination, analysis, and interpretation, throughout the organisation.
  • Devising and implementing data management policies and processes, including those related to classification, security, retrieval and retention.
  • Establishing data standards for key data entities, identifying systems of record, measuring and analysing data quality.
  • Participates in change process e.g. in impact assessments, advisory capacity and technical assurance.
  • Diagnosing data quality issues, quantifying any consequential business risk and promote the benefits of good data stewardship across all lines of RNLIs operations.
Qualifications requiredDegree education or equivalent industry experience (essential)Certifications in architecture frameworks e.g. BCS, Gartner, TOGAF 9.X or evidenced as being worked towards (essential)Experience required
  • Experience in data (information) management and governance extending into GDPR compliance etc. (essential)
  • Experience in market leading data and information technologies (IT Capabilities) & platforms e.g. SQL (RDB), Snaplogic (iPaaS), Ataccama (MDM/DQM), Alteryx / PowerBI (Data Science/Analytics/Reporting) etc. (essential)
  • A technology specialist who has good communication skills. Used to working with non-technical people on one side and technicians on the other.
