Job Description

We have a new exciting position through for a Continuous Process Improvement Engineer to work in the manufacturing plant, specifically working in the Yarns team in the finishing area, of an engineered textiles company. The purpose this role is the continuouslyimprove the performance of the manufacturing process, looking at quality, safety, cost, delivery and the environment.We are looking for a Continuous Improvement Engineer to join our client who specialising in dyed textiles for sporting.The main responsibilities of the Continuous Process Improvement Engineer will include:

  • Recommending and implementing improvements to the mechanical aspects of all processing equipment
  • Meet the productivity targets with compromising on quality, safety or environmental requirements
  • Ensure compliance of various textile finishing processes to established specifications
  • Continually assess and improve the effectiveness of the fabric dyeing processes and fully understand the chemistry involved
  • Analysing ways to improve the operations and effectiveness of all manufacturing processes
The Continuous Process Improvement Engineer will desirably have experience in:
  • Knowledge of typical process improvement systems, such as 5S, TPM or SPC.
  • Be familiar with ISO9001, ISO4001 and technical safety standards
  • Using Microsoft packages; Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
  • Fully understanding the chemistry involved in developing yarns
Furthermore, in the Continuous Process Improvement Engineer themselves, the company are looking for someone who:
  • Has the ability to prioritise their own workload and is self-motivated
  • Is happy to be hands-on and involved with tasks of all levels where required
  • Is a strong character and is confident in their own abilities and thoughts
The Continuous Process Improvement Engineer must have experience in continuous improvements or operations and 5S. The Continuous Process Improvement Engineer must also have previously worked on technical textiles, within a laboratory / manufacturing environment.
