Communications and Engagement Manager Job Share (Maternity Cover)Job ID: 023905Salary: £46,292-£54,534, including London Weighting Allowance (pro rata)Business unit: Kings College LondonDepartment: Vice Dean Research/Research OfficeDenmark Hill Campus The Communications and Engagement Manager will devise and implement a communications and engagement strategy to promote the work of the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre (BRC), a joint partnership project of South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLAM) and Kings College London.The post will engage key stakeholder groups including staff across the partnership, NIHR and Department of Health and Social Care, media, policy makers, patients, the public and the wider UK life sciences community including industry.You will be an experienced communications professional with a passion for science and experience working with senior management in academia and healthcare. You will have an understanding of translational research and the journey from discovery research to clinical trials and patient impact.Using your strong writing, editorial and communications skills, you will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to enhance the impact of our research and facilities and stimulate opportunities for increased patient and public involvement, engagement and participation. You will proactively seek opportunities to promote our research outputs via a range of media and in a range formats, including multi-media, blogs/opinion pieces etc.The NIHR Maudsley BRC was established in 2007, at that time the only BRC to specialise in mental health. It was awarded further funding in 2012 and 2017 to deliver an ambitious portfolio of experimental medicine and early phase translational research in mental health and neuroscience.The BRC will be applying for its fourth cycle of funding for the period 2022-2027.
