Dartford STLS is one of twelve District STLS teamsin Kent, commissioned by Kent County Council, and is committed to providinghigh quality teaching and learning support for children and young people withSEND, within mainstream schools and EY settings in Dartford. A solution-focusedapproach is at the heart of all that we do to improve inclusive practice.We are looking for an excellent practitioner withexperience of working with pupils who have Cognition and Learning needs. Theage range covered will be across all age phases but is likely to bepredominantly within the primary age phase. The role will mainly involve supporting andadvising school staff on successfully including pupils and striving to removesbarriers to inclusion. This includes school visits for individual cases,capacity building through the LIFT process and delivering training. The schoolcurrently has approximately 129 on roll between the age of 5 and 16 with a widerange of needs including communication and interaction difficulties as well asbehavioural, social and mental health needs. We also provide an AlternativeCurriculum Provision for 18 KS4 pupils, providing tutoring both on and offsite. The STLS teaching service is also housed on the Rowhill site. Our staff work closely with pupils to create anethos of care, respect and success.
