Job Description

Bennett and Game are representing a design and build company working with surface water/sewage treatment systems, based in Somerset. As a consequence of an increase in demand for consulting engineering services they are looking for drainage engineers.Civil Engineer - Water Position OverviewThe successful Engineer will support the development and designs for a range of surface and sewage management schemes. The position will focus mainly on SuDS, flood risk assessment and wastewater treatment or pumping stations.The ideal engineer will have 3 years minimum experience in the workplace and will have an opportunity to work as the design lead on smaller scale projects. You will also be supporting senior engineers in the delivery of large scale projects.

  • Preparation of drainage strategies and feasibility studies;
  • Preparation of detailed drainage designs for tender/construction;
  • Preparation of drainage layouts and section drawings;
  • Preparation of flood risk assessments;
  • Supporting our construction teams during construction and commissioning (setting out, construction details, clash analysis etc.).
Civil Engineer - Water Position Requirements
  • Degree or academic qualification in a relevant subject (BEng, MEng, HNC, HND);
  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient draughting 2D CAD draughting capability
  • Experience in hydraulic modelling (eg MicroDrainge)
  • Knowledge of technical standards including Sewers for Adoption/DCG, British Standards, Building Regulations, Environmental Permitting Regulations;
  • Experience and awareness of construction site works
  • Understanding of project development RIBA stage 2 through 5/6;
  • Understanding of CDM Regulations.
  • Have the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and to organise and prioritise workload to ensure deadlines are met.
Civil Engineer - Water Position Remuneration
  • Salary is negotiable depending on experience - the client will consider all levels of experience.
  • 23 days holiday + bank holidays
