Job Description

Chemistry Lead Teacher- Initial Teaching Training (ITT)Join a thriving, outstanding Training Provider with a rare opportunity to make an impact. This organisation is one of the few delivering the full golden thread of Teacher CPD nationally and has achieved remarkable success with their Early Years Initial Teacher Training (ITT).Now, as a result of this success they are launching their Secondary Initial Teaching Training (ITT) Programme in Chemistry. Were seeking a specialised Teaching Leader in Chemistry to work closely with other Subject Leads, heavily involved in curriculum development and managing a team of Chemistry Tutors delivering the ITT Chemistry framework.As a Lead Teaching Specialist in Chemistry, youll enjoy:• Home-based role with national travel (expenses covered)• Salary range: £48,000 - £53,000• 28 days leave plus public holidays• Excellent career progression, autonomy, and support.Summary of Responsibilities of the Chemistry Lead Teacher• Contribute to long-term ITT curriculum planning.• Develop relevant curriculum content aligned with educational frameworks.• Create subject-specific resources for the program.• Lead and supervise a team delivering ITT training.• Ensure program content meets evolving teaching standards.• Address trainee issues and monitor program quality.• Support staff development and training.• Utilise feedback for program improvement.• Manage trainee satisfaction and support plans.• Foster a collaborative, aspirational work culture.Requirements of the Subject Lead in Chemistry • Qualified Teacher Status.• Extensive expertise in managing secondary Chemistry Education Programmes.• Proven track record and demonstrate a proven track record in ITT and curriculum writing.• Detailed knowledge of Core Content Framework and EEF guidance in Chemistry.• Successful leadership and team management experience.• Familiarity with Ofsted requirements and frameworks.• Experience managing stakeholders and leading Chemistry curriculum management.This position is subject to satisfactory DBS and Employment checks and is being managed by Pertemps Newcastle.For more information please contact Simon Atkins on
