The Galaxy Trust is currently afamily of 4 primary academies, serving a diverse community within Dartford, Kent.The Trust Catering Manager is anew and exciting role within our family of academies. Reporting to the Chief OperatingOfficer, you will be responsible for managing and delivering the in-housecatering provision across the 4 sites. Your working week will normally average37 hours per week, Monday to Friday - however, occasionally you may be asked towork outside of these hours. You will be paid on Kent Range 10, £34,351 to£40,405 full time equivalent. You will need excellent and provenculinary skills, be able to communicate effectively with staff and pupils, andhave the drive and leadership skills to ensure that the catering service ismaintained as a centre of excellence for all pupils, staff and community users.This will also mean ensuring that your fellow kitchen staff remain motivatedand productive. You will also ensure that thecatering provision complies with all relevant statutory standards and is of aconsistently high quality, thereby ensuring high uptake amongst pupils andstaff. Regular travel will be required between the Trust academies, which arewithin a 4-mile radius. Experience of working within amulti-site educational environment is not essential. However, it is unlikelythat candidates will have less than 10 years experience in the cateringindustry (including at least five years in a high quality restaurant or hotel)and at least 5 years in a supervisory or management role. Applicants must bequalified to at least HCIMA/NEBSS/C and G708/NVQ food preparation and cooking 1and 2.
