Job Description

Our Client is a fast growing speciality Manufacturer and Distributor of raw materials to the UK Pharmaceutical, Fine Chemical, Agrochemical and Veterinary markets.They are now seeking a Business Manager - Pharmaceutical Ingredients (advanced intermediates for API manufacture) for their Life Science Division. This position will be home based and location within the UK is flexible. The geographical territory is the UK. This position is a full-time permanent role and will report to the Division ManagerJob Purpose

  • Create and maintain a profitable and sustainable Business Unit operating in the CDMO (Contract Development & Manufacturing Organisation) marketplace
  • Develop long term business relationships with Key Customers
  • Create unique and compelling sales propositions in custom synthesis of advanced intermediates for API manufacture
  • Identifying new opportunities and grow the business by the development of these new opportunities
  • Develop Supplier relationships to ensure a long-term positive contribution
  • Promote Innovation and Manufacturing services
Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer Sales
  • Develop Key Accounts
  • Sales and Marketing
  • Develop key geographic CDMO (Contract Development & Manufacturing Organisation) markets
Manufacturer Relationships
  • Manufacturers of all key organic product groups
  • Obtain marketing information
  • Ensure adequate UK stock
  • Communicate with supplier partners (reports, sales figures, market information, product development)
  • Cultivate new Supplier Partners
Qualifications and Experience
  • Technical education to at least BSc in Chemistry (or equivalent)
  • An excellent understanding of organic synthesis
  • Solid commercial experience
  • Knowledgeable of the UK and global Pharmaceutical pipeline specifically advanced intermediates and APIs
  • Experienced and known to pharmaceutical and agrochemical industry companies and customers
  • Excellent communicator at all levels
  • Business acumen to attract and develop new supplier partners
  • Determination, energy, tenacity, enthusiasm, loyalty
In return, our Client is offering a basic salary of c£55,000 per annum, (salary is negotiable dependent on experience.
