Job Description

The starting salary for this position is £45,734 per annum based on a 36 hour working week.This is an exciting opportunity to work within our Guildford Locality Team. Promoting choice and control is at the heart of everything we do.We are looking for anAssistant Team Manager, possessing an Occupational Therapy qualification/degree to join us on a 11 month secondment or fixed term contract to cover the substantive post-holders secondment within Surrey County Council. You will be able to demonstrate a highlevel of understanding and commitment to the personalisation agenda and be able to demonstrate an applied knowledge of Adult Social Care legislation including the Mental Capacity Act and the NHS Continuing Healthcare National Framework. About youYou will bean excellent communicator and demonstrate the skills and ability to manage and support the day to day running of a busy, dynamic team, effectively prioritising daily challenges and expectations. You will be confident in making sound decisions that respondflexibly and quickly to changing needs that arise in a high-pressure locality team environment. You will be able to develop effective partnership relationships with individuals, carers and families and positive relationships with professional health staffboth within and outside the locality team.You must have significant post qualification experience, including some management experience in a social care setting and be able to demonstrate good understanding of both the health and social care agendas. A keyaccountability of the role is developing staff practice and therefore you must be able demonstrate evidence of providing effective professional supervision to less experienced colleagues.You must also be able to demonstrate an applied and effective knowledgeof safeguarding vulnerable adults procedures and be able to evidence this. You will have an understanding and commitment to supporting carers and a demonstrable commitment to providing management that supports and promotes Surrey County Councils equalityand diversity policy.You must hold a professional Occupational Therapy qualification/degree, have completed any post qualification practice or training requirements and have current professional registration with their relevant registration authority.You willneed to have competent IT skills and be able and willing to learn to use a variety of software systems.
