As a result, we have invested in our homes and staff and plan to continue to do this, in order to achieve a service that is ambitious, innovative and responsive to the needs of young people in our care.Are you looking for a role where you can shape and influence services to allow for better outcomes for young people Are you able to lead and inspire a team who work with young people with disabilities to create a positive and engaging environmentWe are looking to recruit Assistant Team Managers who have experience of working with young people who have complex needs and who are able to build meaningful and trusting relationships with them. You will also need very good management skills to co-manage a large staff group and be able to guide and influence their practice, whilst ensuring practitioners receive reflective supervision to enable them to build authentic relationships with children, young people and their families to create change.Having the ability to prioritise and think on your feet is key in this role as you will be coordinating and prioritising tasks whilst acting as a role model to staff by sustaining an open and transparent culture, maintaining a high degree of personal authority, initiative and autonomy.We are looking for someone with experience of working in a Childrens home, with managerial experience to deliver high standards of care, leadership and safeguarding to children and young people with complex needs and disability. You will be confident, work well on your own initiative, possess excellent communication skills, be a good decision maker and have the ability to develop our team to their full potential.This role will require you to: undertake operational duties such as overseeing the day to day management of the home, administrative aspects such as co-ordinating reports, policies and monitoring data. be a very self-aware and intuitive person who can work with the therapeutic aspects of our care delivery which will include assessments, supporting the emotional and physical well-being of both the young people and the team. deputise the running of the home in the Team Managers absence in order to ensure a high standard of day to day care for the young people. support the Team Manager in ensuring effective delivery of service through the team, using HR methods including recruitment, induction, training, performance appraisal, succession planning and absence managementAbout Ruth House:Ruth House forms an essential part of Surrey County Councils provision for disabled children, young people and their families, providing some short breaks and full-time care to children who predominantly have a diagnosis of an Autism Spectrum Condition.Ruth House is split into four different living areas and there are currently seven young people who live at Ruth House between the ages of 12-18 years.About the role:Ruth House is expanding and redefining its workforce, so we are now looking for enthusiastic and flexible assistant team managers to support some of the most vulnerable young people within Surrey. Our young people require empathy, patience, and positive energy to empower them to develop further life and social skills on their journey to adulthood. Whilst there will be challenging times, the reward of seeing these young people develop into young adults with increased life opportunities, is deeply satisfying.To be shortlisted for interview, you will need to evidence: That you have a very solid knowledge base around working with children or young adults with autism, learning disability and special needs in a residential setting; a minimum of three years.
