Passionate about inspiring young people Join us at Harris Academy Sutton.Harris Academy Sutton is currently looking to appoint an Art and DT Technician to join its team of specialists.Your opportunityThe successful candidate will provide technical supportto the relevant departments of the academy in order to support the teaching of subjects in the Creative Arts Faculty, covering DT, Art, Food, Drama, Music and Dance. Your responsibilities will include: Assisting and advising teaching staff on the preparationand layout in classrooms for practical exercises, running trials, demonstrations and helping students with learning activities Ensuring equipment and materials prepared for lessons are to the specification of the teacher requisitions In conjunction with theappropriate teachers, advising students on the safe and proper use of tools and equipment and on the correct and safe way to carry out learning activities Supporting students prepare materials for both 3D and 2D projects, e.g. stretching canvas, preparingscreens for printing. Assisting in practical lessons and performances and after hours activities when requested. Assisting in the safety, repair and general maintenance of all resources, equipment and tools Using specialist knowledge and expertise to guideand instruct students, as requested by Trade School teaching staff, to enable them to access learning activities Supporting the delivery of Computer Aided Design and Manufacture in TechnologyAs part of Harris, you will join a community of staff dedicated totransforming education in London.
