Job Description

MRD Recruitment is actively looking for a Senior Demand Planner for our fast-growing, SME client who specialises in food manufacturing (FMCG). This role is based in South Queensferry, and reports to the Managing Director/ business owner.The successful Senior Demand Planner, based in South Queensferry, will be responsible for driving sales order plans through the facility via MRP/ERP to achieve, build, plan and fulfil master production schedules.Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Generate capacity and production plans and manufacturing orders.
  • Contribute to site S&OP activities
  • Inventory Management
  • Implement and oversee stock control systems and manage monthly stocktaking activities
  • Supplier management - drive suppliers against OTD/OTIF targets to ensure material availability
  • Develop, manage and set KPIs for team
  • Ensuring communication is maintained throughout all departments across site
  • Regular investigation in to minimising waste
  • Ensuring plans are in line with material availability
  • Issuing purchase orders and shipping schedules to the supplier
  • Ensuring products are shipped/delivered on time
  • Processing all special project requirements
  • Recover costs from supplier due to quality issues
  • Assist in resolving discrepancies.
  • Liaise with all areas of Supply Chain and Suppliers to ensure goods are sourced, ordered and shipped
  • Generation of reports and purchasing administration
Key Requirements
  • Manufacturing Planning, Production Planning or Master Scheduling experience within manufacturing or engineering
  • An appreciation of S&OP, SIOP and how production plan helps achieves sales targets
  • Purchasing/Procurement experience or the ability to manage and drive the performance of supply chain partners
  • Deep understanding of inventory management techniques in MRP/ERP
  • Positive, pro-active and demonstrates leadership qualities
  • Maintaining relationships with commercials to ensure orders are in line with site deliveries
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to prioritise workload and complete tasks with accuracy to meet strict deadlines.
  • Proven experience, working in a material planning environment with an understanding of MRP, managing working capital.
  • Proven experience in a customer facing role with the ability to resolve daily queries and escalate as appropriate.
  • Excellent PC/Microsoft Office and or Systems skills.
