Job Description

A globally operating manufacturer located to the West of Edinburgh is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to join their production support team.As a Quality Assurance Engineer you will work in a small QA team, reporting to the Quality Manager and be responsible for the Quality Assurance / Control of a variety of cast steel products. Using your quality industry experience, you will be required toadvise colleagues and suppliers on best practice and performance improvement.Benefits:

  • £38k - £42k (dependant on experience) + company bonus scheme
  • Monday to Friday role (early finish on a Friday ! )

Duties of Quality Assurance Engineer :
  • Ensure SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) are implemented effectively and followed
  • Plan and review annual internal and external audits.
  • Ensure measuring and monitoring equipment is up to compliance regulations
  • Inspection of products / materials against quality standards, drawings, specifications and any other relevant requirements.
  • Plan and lead client inspections as required or requested.
  • Ensure records are maintained of all inspections completed (internal or external)
  • Lead root cause analysis processes and install corrective actions and process improvements
  • Maintain ERP system records and controlled documents
  • Provide training for colleagues where required
  • Review company Quality information to monitor poor product quality issues and their resolutions against cost and time etc.
Requirement / Qualifications of Quality Assurance Engineer:
  • Prior foundry experience would be very advantageous, but it is not essential. Though manufacturing experience is essential.
  • Proven theoretical and practical experience of all areas of QA
  • IQA qualified
  • Be able to demonstrate practical knowledge and application of foundry / engineering QA procedures
  • Good presentation, negotiation, coaching and mentoring skills
