Senior Mechanical Craftsperson Potters barUp to £35,000We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Craftsperson to provide a mechanical service to ensure that the Potters Bar site (consisting of general and containment laboratories, production filling area, cold rooms and offices) functions in compliance with the relevant legalisation.You will be responsible for carrying out mechanical work to support the specialist areas of the Potters Bar site to ensure that the Engineering systems are supporting the relevant Divisions. This will include coordinating and completing the planned preventative maintenance programme for the specialist plant and equipment.You will also be expected to investigate and respond to faults, and unscheduled tasks as they occur, on a priority basis and propose solutions as to how the fault can be rectified.Part of your role will include providing out of hours cover on a rota basis and providing support in replacing and upgrading the mechanical systems to ensure they are fit for purpose and, when necessary, either lead Project Teams or be part of Project Teams to deliver the required outputs.The position is for a 37 hour week, but will include being part of the on call rota. To successfully apply for this role, you should have a minimum of 5 years experience in a Maintenance or Building Services environment. This should include 3 years maintaining mechanical systems and supporting containment laboratories (or equivalent safety systems). You will also have experience working on a range of mechanical safety systems including the design/installation and validation of mechanical services in a maintenance environment. You must also be able to demonstrate experience of working on a range of mechanical systems including working to and updating of associated documentation (Risk assessments, SOPs). Some of the equipment you will be working on will include:Air handling systems supplying laboratoriesBiological pressure containment systemsClean roomsBuilding management systemsPressure Systems - Steam Boilers and distribution, Compressed air.AutoclavesIn addition to the salary, you will benefit from 25 days holiday as well as Pension and Sick Pay after your probationary period.
