Here at Next, we’re looking for a Backend Platform Developer to join our new Platform & Data Team, within the Warehouse & Distribution SystemsWorking to create the Platform foundations required for huge global Logistics initiatives, you will help shape the future of systems development in Next Warehouse & Distribution from this point onwards.About the TeamYou’ll be working closely with Project Developers, Architects and Technical Specialists, a big focus being to understand their needs, allowing you to design and create frameworks, scaffolding, tools & self-serve API’s for development teams to consume, expanding into the realm of DataOps and Data Engineering.About the RoleYou will be part of the dynamic, core team that combines innovation, research, design and interpretation, tackling unknown challenges to craft a solution. Knowledge sharing is a huge part of this role and the culture we want to continue building within our core team of peers.Your contributions will drive forward our transformation initiatives around Data Streaming and Event Driven principles with the goal to establish Governance, Guidelines and Best Practices.We are focused on evaluating appropriate technology to implement reusable system services, sub-systems and components, so the wheel isn’t reinvented. Collaboration across development teams is paramount.You will be investigating and evaluating technologies for adoption across Warehouse & Distribution systems and working as part of a core team to align the Technical Strategy.There are flexible working options available for this role, including working from home.Criteria
