Head of Research (Scientific Writing / Oncology) c50k + BenefitsSouth East Permanent Ref: ABJ4841As Head of Research (and PhD qualified) and an experienced scientific writer in oncology and health education you would be responsible for the overall management and leadership of an extensive ongoing oncology project. This health research manager will also be responsible for developing the project in the relationships between oncology and diet and nutrition and overseeing cancer statistics, including estimates of the proportion of cases of cancer that are preventable.The project provides a global analysis of all relevant data linking diet, nutrition, physical activity and cancer, and is underpinned by a database housed at a top London university. You will have overall responsibility for ensuring the development of the project in a timely and efficient manner, as well as contributing to the overall strategy underpinning the project and its outputs.As part of this all methodology involved in the project the whole process will be reviewed, the structure /format of outputs (such as reports) will be reviewed, and the database will be expanded to include a number of new cancer types. There will also be an increased emphasis on cancer survivors, as data from survivorship studies begins to be more widely captured in the database of information from published studies.The Head of Research will be part of the senior management team in our London office. On a daily basis theywill work diplomatically and co-operatively with colleagues to provide information and advice to the otherdepartments within the company network (in the UK, Netherlands, US and Hong Kong).Responsibilities:
