Job Description

The Impulse Category Lead is pivotal in creating the direction for Impulse customers, setting the strategy for category growth and, in an ever changing environment, set short and long term growth opportunities to respond to changing shopper patterns, whilstmanaging 2 Cat Managers.Client DetailsA UK leading FMCG snacking business with an iconic brand portfolio, highly rated for its category capability, having been rated by customers as No 1 for Category Development for Wholesale as well as Grocery Multiples.DescriptionTeam support and leadership

  • Develop and support two direct reports on customer engagement and their individual development including PDPs, tailored training plan and regular 1-2-1s to ensure continual development and future career planning
Develop Category Capability across the Commercial teams
  • Support and champion "Category based selling" through embedding the various strands as appropriate for Impulse
  • Support sales team trade engagement on category vision through bespoke Impulse engagement sessions
Insight, Planning and Category Vision
  • Appropriately tailor Total Category Vision to create the Impulse channel category vision by building tactics to unlock relevant category drivers by customer
Lead the Commercial Agenda
  • Responsible for developing, aligning broader stakeholders and reporting on performance of Perfect Store targets and coaching team on ways to deliver
  • Be the commercial and customer voice for the Impulse channel in key business meetings and processes such as the Commercial Leadership Forum
Keep the Customer at the Heart of the business
  • Ensure the Impulse Category team is a trusted partner with our external "Customers" providing both short and long-term category solutions
Profile
  • Extensive FMCG Category experience at Senior Cat Manager OR Lead level
  • Strong leadership qualities, ability to manage, empower and develop Category Managers
  • Experience of successfully forging and maintaining customer relationships preferably across convenience & impulse
  • Proven track record of interpreting data and delivering business results
  • Strong customer focus, with ability to develop consumer-led joint strategies
  • Strong commercial acumen - highly numerate, with strong analytical skills
  • Solid communication, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Strong analytical and communication skills; Influencing skills; Results oriented; Self-motivated.
