Job Description

This is a full time position until the end of the academic year in July 2021. There may be the option for this role, or a similar role to continue in September 2021.The school has a very good reputation locally and has an established leadership team and Headteacher who are determined to drive up standards further still. Pupils come from a range of backgrounds and parents are very supportive and there is a lovely, community atmosphere here.The school has a traditional feel and is well resourced for indoor and outdoor learning for every year group.The school is seeking an Reception Teacher who possesses:

  • Recent experience of teaching Early Years
  • A sound knowledge and understanding of the UK Curriculum
  • Effective strategies to include and meet the needs of all pupils
  • A very good knowledge of teaching phonics
  • The ability to monitor, assess, record and report pupil progress, in line with school policy, and use this to inform future planning. The school uses the "Tapestry" system to track progress and to plan for future learning and you will ideally be familiar with this system.
  • A flexible approach to work, with good team skills, excellent spoken and written English and the ability to work as part of a close-knit team.
    • The core duties of this Reception Teacher role are:
  • Take responsibility for planning, preparing, marking and teaching a class of Year 1 pupils
  • Manage pupil progress socially and academically whilst tracking the progress of individual pupils within the class
  • Manage and lead a small team of experienced support staff.
